KUPANG – Deputy Consul General of Japan in Denpasar, Adachi Mayuko, accompanied by a staff member, Shokibi, visited Kupang to participate in the “International Education and Cultural Festival.” During their visit, they also took the opportunity to visit the University of Nusa Cendana (UNDANA) to strengthen the already well-established cooperation.
The Deputy Consul General of Japan was welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Prof. Dr. Jefri S. Bale, ST., M.Eng. Prof. Jefri Bale expressed his welcome and gratitude to Adachi Mayuko for providing opportunities for UNDANA lecturers and students to continue their studies and internships in Japan. He hopes that the good cooperation can be further enhanced with more scholarship programs, internships, and other programs related to the business and industrial world.
Prof. Jefri Bale stated that the study and internship programs in Japan allow students and lecturers to learn the language and positive culture of the host country, develop soft skills, and bring positive changes to themselves and their surroundings. “Soft skills are as important as the knowledge gained in the classroom, especially for students,” he said.
Adachi Mayuko was also requested to give a public lecture to UNDANA students about the Japanese way of learning and various positive aspects that can be emulated from Japan. Students were encouraged to actively seek information about scholarships to Japan, as there are many full funding opportunities provided by the government and universities in Japan, which can be accessed through the international cooperation office at UNDANA
