Van Deventer-Maas Indonesia is a non-governmental social organization funded by a private foundation with a mission to support the education of talented Indonesian students. It provides scholarships and capacity-building programs for its beneficiaries.
The foundation was established in 1947, in accordance with the final will and testament of Mrs. Elizabeth Maas, the widow of Mr. Coen Van Deventer.
In 1979, the Van Deventer-Maas Stichting merged with the Tjandi Stichting (founded in 1913) and the Van Deventer Stichting (founded in 1917). As a result of this merger, there are no longer any remaining foundations originally established by Kartini in 1913.
On September 12, 2017, a representative office in Indonesia was officially established under the name Yayasan Van Deventer-Maas Indonesia (YVDMI).
