Nusa Cendana University (Undana) and Prince of Songkla University (PSU) Thailand signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic collaboration on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. The signing ceremony, held at PSU’s campus in Thailand, marks a new chapter in the international relations between the two universities.
The Undana delegation was led by Rector Prof. Dr. Drh. Maxs U. E. Sanam, accompanied by Dr. Ir. Muhammad S. M. Nurt (Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture), Dr. Dr. Christina Olly Lada (Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine), and Dr. Widasari Bunga (Liaison Officer from Undana’s International Relations Office). Meanwhile, PSU was represented by President Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, along with other university leaders.
The MoU, which is valid for five years and can be automatically renewed, encompasses various areas of collaboration, including student and staff exchanges, joint research, the organization of seminars and conferences, development of study programs, exchange of academic materials, and sharing of experiences in university administration and management.
Interestingly, PSU has offered doctoral scholarship opportunities for Undana lecturers in the fields of Pure Mathematics Education and Epidemiology. This offer opens significant opportunities for human resource development at Undana.
As a follow-up, the Undana delegation will hold a special meeting with PSU’s Faculty of Medicine to further discuss the scholarship program in the field of Epidemiology.
Both universities believe that this collaboration will bring mutual benefits by connecting academics, students, and staff from both institutions. The goal is to enhance mutual understanding and develop mutually beneficial academic relationships.
The implementation of this collaboration will be coordinated through the leadership of both universities. Through this agreement, Undana and PSU are committed to supporting each other in various academic and research aspects for the advancement of education in both countries.
With the signing of this MoU, Undana strengthens its position in the international higher education arena. This collaboration also opens more opportunities for Undana students and academic staff to develop themselves on a global scale, while simultaneously improving the quality of higher education in East Nusa Tenggara and Indonesia as a whole.
