“UNDANA and the Institute of Business (IOB) Timor-Leste Strengthen Collaboration Through the Signing of an MoU and Study Visit.”

Kupang, October,13. 2025 – The University of Nusa Cendana (UNDANA) welcomed the official visit of a delegation from the Institute of Business (IOB) Timor-Leste as part of a Study Visit held on the third floor of the UNDANA Rectorate Building. This event marks an important moment in strengthening institutional relations and expanding academic collaboration between the two higher education institutions in the regions of Nusa Tenggara and Timor-Leste.

The series of activities began at 08:30 WITA with a welcoming ceremony followed by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between UNDANA and IOB. This signing signifies a shared commitment to enhancing collaboration in the areas of education, research, faculty and student exchanges, as well as community engagement.

Following the signing ceremony, the IOB delegation took part in a campus tour of UNDANA and visited several classrooms and laboratories. During this visit, participants were invited to observe firsthand the learning processes, student research activities, and the academic support facilities available at UNDANA. The program concluded with a laboratory demonstration and an interactive sharing session between faculty members and students from both institutions.

The Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems of the University of Nusa Cendana, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jefri S. Bale, ST., M.Eng., stated that this collaboration is a strategic step in strengthening UNDANA’s position as a regional university oriented toward international partnerships.

“We warmly welcome our colleagues from IOB. This collaboration opens significant opportunities for both institutions to learn from each other and exchange academic experiences. UNDANA is committed to continuing the expansion of its educational network in the Southeast Asian region, particularly with our neighboring country, Timor-Leste,” said Prof. Jefri Bale.

Meanwhile, participants from the Institute of Business (IOB) Timor-Leste expressed their appreciation for UNDANA’s warm welcome and its commitment to fostering cross-border collaboration.

“This visit marks the beginning of a productive collaboration. We hope that this partnership will bring tangible benefits to both students and faculty members, and further strengthen the relationship between the academic communities of Timor-Leste and Indonesia,” said Dr. Natalino Ximenes.

Through this Study Visit, UNDANA and IOB reaffirm their commitment to implementing various concrete collaborative programs in the future, including student exchanges, joint research, and cross-institutional academic training.
