“Send-Off Ceremony for SEA-Teacher Program Batch 10 Students to the Philippines”

Kupang – Nusa Cendana University (Undana) once again sent off its students to participate in the SEA-Teacher Program Batch 10, which will take place in the Philippines. The send-off ceremony was held on November 1, 2024, and was attended by the Vice Rector I, Vice Rector III, the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), the Vice Dean I of FKIP, as well as Heads of Study Programs within FKIP.

This batch includes five students from FKIP Undana, consisting of two students majoring in Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD), one in English Education, one in Mathematics Education, and one in Physics Education. They are scheduled to depart on November 2, 2024, and will participate in the program until November 29, 2024. The students will be placed at two universities in the Philippines: Don Mariano Marcos Memorial University (DMMMU) and Saint Louis University (SLU).

In his speech, Dr. Siprianus Suban Garak, M.Sc, Vice Rector I for Student Affairs and Alumni, expressed his hopes that the students will demonstrate their best capabilities while in the Philippines. “I hope you showcase the best of what you have learned here and bring back the valuable knowledge and experiences gained there to benefit the Undana community,” he stated.

The Dean of FKIP also advised the students to uphold the university’s reputation during their time in the Philippines. “You are representing Undana, so maintain the good name of the institution and take care of yourselves so that when you return, you can serve as role models for your peers,” said the Dean of FKIP.

The SEA-Teacher Program is a student exchange initiative across Southeast Asia that offers aspiring teachers the opportunity to gain international teaching experience. The program aims to enhance pedagogical and intercultural competencies while strengthening partnerships among universities in the Southeast Asian region.
